Australia Work and Holiday Visa 2026-27 | Subclass 462 Pause Does Not Affect India

Australia has paused new Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462) applications from 24 countries, including Indonesia, Spain, Argentina, Singapore and Thailand, only weeks into the 2026-27 program year. India is not affected by this pause. Indian applicants, along with applicants from China and Vietnam, use a separate ballot system for first-time subclass 462 applications, with up to 1,000 places allocated annually for India. Registration for the 2026-27 India ballot closed on June 25, 2026. The current fee for a first subclass 462 application is AUD 840. The paused country caps can reopen later during the same program year, so applicants should check the latest official Australian government guidance for current availability and application requirements.
